Supply List for "Warp Speed" Class 

at 2026 International Quilt Festival in Houston, Texas

 

I will teach "Warp Speed" at International Quilt Festival in Houston. Following is the supply list for the class. "Warp Speed" will meet from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Thursday, November 12, 2026. Enroll through Quilts, Inc.

“Warp Speed” Supply List

 

Students should bring:

  • Fabric scissors

  • Paper scissors

  • Rotary cutter

  • Small cutting mat

  • Acrylic ruler about 6-6.5" x 12-12.5"

  • Colored pencils if you have them

  • Calculator: The one in your cell phone will work fine

  • Picture of your favorite traditional quilt block if you have one. Instructor will have block books from which you can select a block.

  • 5 fat quarters of solids: 1 black, 1 white, and 3 grays ranging from light to dark in value. If you have smaller cuts of these in your stash, that is fine too.  Do not substitute colored fabrics.

  • Imagination

Instructor will provide a packet to each student that will include: 

  • 8 squares-to-an-inch vellum graph paper, 8.5" x 11" multiple sheets

  • 1" x 12" flat, clear, gridded ruler

  • Mechanical pencil

  • Pink Pearl eraser

  • Vellum paper

  • Glue stick

  • Fine-tip permanent marker

  • Forms for calculating fabric needs

  • Handouts on calculating fabric needs

 

Instructor will provide for shared in-class use:

  • Masking tape

  • Larger sheets of graph paper and vellum paper

  • Colored pencils
